That patch of land next door...

The HDB are going to build 148 STUDIO APARTMENTS  called GOLDEN CARNATION on the land.

Not bad!

Studio apartments are reserved for the elderly -   mere whippersnappers at 55yrs if you ask me.

I doubt if this will result in more traffic pouring out onto Street 11 as they probably won't have too many cars between them. Some might say that this will depreciate the value of TC, but this is sheer nonsense. I am sure they will be quite nice, replete with a nice garden area.   Since we are surrounded by HDB already, one more won't make any difference.

Let hope the HDB do not build rental flat at that piece of land! They need more rental flat.

  3. I see, so two new buildings are coming up over there. The government just can't leave open spaces alone - they must FILL them all in.

In the nice patch of green parkland over on the other side of the estate, they put up a useless enclosed gate ball court (proper word being croquet) which nobody uses except those who clamber illegally over the fence to whack a few cricket balls about, and now, some idiotic butterfly garden is currently being erected. This is the work of some mindless committee! They have money to burn and spend it on destroying the little bit of open area we possess.. Grass, big trees and plants are what make a place livable - not all this ill advised rubbish cluttering up the place.

Have you read Minister Khaw's latest blog post? More blocks to be built in mature estates... so bye-bye green lungs and sunshine.

  4. I totally agree with you, itshometome. I wonder why we do not have a Green Party. The govt keeps building, digging and pouring cement on every piece of earth. Do you know what are they doing on top of that hill at the junction of Tampines Ave 2 and Bedok Reservoir Rd? I got no idea.

'Not surprisingly, the projects in Tampines are the most popular with high application rates for the 4- and 5-room flats' - From Minister Khaw's blog

'Ideally located in estates with well-established transportation networks, easily accessible facilities and amenities, your daily needs are well-taken care of.' - From HDB Web about the location of Studio Apartment

The above statements reinforce the supreme location of Tampines Court in the eastern part of Singapore.

It will be interesting to note the application rate of studio apartments at Street 11 in July 2011.

This will enable us to gauge the popularity of our location although the market segments are different.

    Regards

everyone will say my place is nice, the best location, etc... a balanced comment would be refreshing.

  10. Actually, when you are going to sell your unit, the good property agent will help you with a refreshing comment of why your place is nice.
In the previous en-bloc, the MA had the valuation done describing how bad it was, and valued it such that each unit would get about $695K. Then when the en-bloc failed, the same property agent, helped market some units just after it failed, describing how good TC is, great location etc and priced it at $750K, higher then the en-bloc valuation. When this was highlighted in this bloc by some people, the property agent immediately moved the advertisement.
You wonder why I bring up old story... just to remind you same place, same property agent, right after en-bloc failed, not repainted yet, valuation changed.
    Learn anything yet?
