The FB people are getting all hot and bothered about this blog. I assure them I am not in competition with their choice of medium and I visit their page everyday to see if they have any new news and to read all the 82% majority comments. Relax, we can co-exist. I have been here 10 years and I do not post untruths, if I did, they would be found out soon enough. Note to readers - please take note of the POST DATE when reading old posts as things change very fast in Singapore and they may no longer be pertinent to today's Law or Market.
The FB page is useful for updates, but they don't really discuss anything except how to get people to sign and how to stop people from visiting this blog. Things need to be brought out in the open and discussed to dispel any misconceptions - example - the Mechanism for Lowering of the RP should that happen. Many people thought it was a fresh 80% until I pushed for an explanation because I knew it wasn't necessarily so. That is vital information for all SPs to know.
Koh Win, Wayne, & Pro Enbloc have made cogent points along the way but their FB page is a poor medium for them to spread their views. Sad to see you go - but good luck all the same and if you change your mind about making comments here - why don't you start posting using your FB names - that way I might even give you your own label on the right column:)
Good points and hats off to you for allowing freedom of speech to hear both sides of views on yr blog. Whether you belongs to pro or anti-enbloc side we are still neighbours. Let's be matured and open minded to listen to others' view even though we may disagree with each other's sometimes. In the end, each should make his or her decision whether to sign or not and we should all respect that. Whatever the outcome of the enbloc let's accept it with grace and move on and part with each should the enbloc go through in goodwill and spirit. Life is short be gracious and kind to each other inspite of disagreement with each other.
ReplyDeleteSign or don't sign makes no difference. This round of enbloc sure to go through. Everyone is a winner ! It's going to be end of this blog soon. Maybe u can buy another condo with enbloc potential & start another anti-enbloc blog ? :)
ReplyDeleteHey, who knows! I was thinking more on the lines of "Where are you now" as a kind of ending to the saga. :)
Deletethe irony is that we will probably miss each other when it is all over!
DeleteWow, from hatre to love ! The power of love !
DeleteThis website is a treasure trove of information and ranks well ahead of the fb page on google search. But with great power comes great responsibility...it is not easy to keep a fair view when emotions run high. And things will get hotter in the next year. the sc/ma dont comment much and for good reason - they can be sued and they dont have the protection as you have on this blog with your caveats. Wayne
ReplyDeleteSC/MA can be sued so are anomymous posters who make unsubstantiated allegations & defamation. It is not difficult to trace the IP address and with court order no one can remain anonymous. So please post with responsibility.
DeleteHello Wayne, 'great power' is overdoing it, I think. I disagree, I don't think the SC can be sued and certainly things will never get that out of hand. No one was sued in Rd 1 and we all went back to our normal lives after the kerfuffle. I also don't think the next year will be contentious - it's now only about getting in right and not about throwing spanners. I am thinking on how to let Majority Voices have more space on the blog - it's a practical problem seeing as you can only send in 'comment' form - a side label as promised?
DeleteI can see improvement in communication between SPs (pro, anti & minority SPs) be it at here or TC FB. Way to go people! So long as we respect each other's thinking & decision, I think this enbloc so have a smooth transition and ride forward (whatever the final outcome). Having said that there doesn't mean we cannot try to persuade to sway each other's decision so long as we do it amicably and without unnecessary pressure and name calling.
ReplyDeleteStrange.why cannot see your post in the facebook now? I saw it this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteFB has locked me out of my account - apparently they don't believe Itshome Tome is my real name and want verification :P So my question to the CSC has disappeared.
DeleteI hate Facebook.
